Our networking is paying off

As from today I'm no longer taking new clients from this site.

A while ago we joined a site called the bizniz. In a nutshell its a cross between a B2B networking site (with plenty of helpful features) and a sales platform that enables companies to post Deals to both other business's and/or to the general public. (A bit like groupon but without giving a cut of your profits away.

Through the contacts I have made I now have all the work I can cope with, for now at least.

Not bad to say I only joined the site a week or so ago.

Sign pettition for the workers of BAE of brough

The feeling was with a mixture of sadness and anger when I read about the closure of Brough. Well not the closure of brough its self but the BAE systems manufacturing plant although Brough the village will also suffer as a consequence. Over 900 jobs look set to be lost within the next few months and the effect that this will have on the families and the local economy doesn't bare thinking about.

Brough has been for many years one of the regions largest employers and to loose it would be a blow to an already hard it region. Please click the link to sign the petition.

Time to ignore Google PR?

As well as developing websites I run about 10 of my own sites and maintain about the same for others.
About a year ago I made a conscious effort to completely ignore Google PR. The time that I was spending on it went into improving my content and networking with others who "I" thought were worth networking with based on my own criteria.
After about a month or so I started seeing the benefits influence of that little green line.
Without doubt it is a hard habit to break. After years of having sites with pr1 out performing some of my pr5 sites.
